Faisel Sadiq – diversity appointment and award
Chambers is pleased to announce that Faisel Sadiq has been appointed as one of the two Vice Chair’s of the Bar Council’s Equality, Diversity and Social Mobility Committee. The Committee is tasked with ensuring the Bar Council (as approved regulator of the Bar) implements and fully meets its public equality duty and ensuring coordination of equality and diversity work with the Bar Standards Board. Additionally, the committee leads the development of the Bar Council’s equality and diversity policy and provides guidance on equality and diversity issues for the profession.
Chambers is also pleased to note that on 31 October 2019, Faisel won the Chambers and Partners Award for Outstanding Contribution to Diversity and Inclusion 2019. The award recognised Faisel’s outstanding work on the Bar Council’s EDSM Committee (in particular his work on the fair allocation of work and marketing opportunities), his work as chair of the Bar Council’s Disability Sub-Group as well as his work in helping to establish and membership of the Inner Temple’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Sub-Committee.
