Michael Couling joins Chambers
Ely Place Chambers is pleased to announce that Michael Couling has taken up the position of Chambers Director in which he will work with Senior Clerk Richard Sheehan to develop Chambers’ business. Michael has over 30 years’ experience of the management of Magic Circle commercial and leading commercial/chancery sets of chambers during which he has forged relationships with a broad range of law firms, insolvency practitioners and litigation funders.
Michael said “I am delighted to be joining Ely Place Chambers during this important phase of its development. We share the same driving ambition to bring greater success to a proven platform and together we shall take Chambers to the next level of its development and beyond. Ely Place is a set with a strong collegiate will to succeed which fits with my own ethos. My decision to move was straightforward and I am pleased to be part of a set that has stated, and is carrying out, its intentions for the future which we shall achieve together.”
Head of Chambers William McCormick QC said “We are delighted to welcome Michael to Ely Place and look forward to benefitting from his extensive experience. We are confident that he will form an excellent partnership both with the existing clerking team, led by the Senior Clerk Richard Sheehan and with the members of chambers. This is precisely the sort of development that our business plan requires and we look forward to working with Michael to achieve the goals that life at the modern, commercially orientated Bar demands.”
